About Philip
Philip walked into Astrolads as an intern from his International Creative Business studies. The highlight of his graduation internship was conceiving, developing and distributing the Geen Idee Magazine, a free magazine featuring works by local creatives.
He now fulfils a unique role within the organisation as Community Manager. In this role, Philip is constantly developing the creative community as an inseparable part of Astrolads. From great collaborations with local student associations and educational institutions, to creative workshops at the Astrolads office. Philip makes sure creatives in The Hague get out of their attic rooms to develop, meet and, above all, make!
Alongside all the events Philip organises, every six months he also takes on the supervision of a group of InHolland Creative Business students who tackle a creative challenge within Astrolads. Philip makes sure they keep challenging themselves creatively, and gives them direction and feedback drawn from his own experience in the programme.
Outside Astrolads
It's almost impossible to capture Philip in just a few lines. With a unique collection of work uniforms (from Jumbo to Hema and from Thuisbezorgd to Ikea) and spontaneous Flixbus trips across Europe, you never quite know what Philip is up to next.
Philip also pours a lot of time into his band James Burki, where he makes sure you don't just hear the bass… you feel it! Alongside his many creative hobbies, musical talents and travels, he's also busy running his own company Geen Idee Lab, which he co-founded with Paulina in 2026. Together they put on the most striking and talked-about (physical) marketing campaigns and dream up the wildest creative concepts and events.
And when everything's briefly done? You won't find him exhausted on the couch at home, but with a perfectly poured Guinness at the Irish Pub. Hard as it sometimes is to believe, Philip has the same 24 hours in a day as everyone else, and he uses them to the fullest!
