As an independent meeting place between science and practice, the NSOB helps public professionals to act in a complex world.

At the Netherlands School of Public Administration (NSOB) we help make complex knowledge accessible and visibly spread. From large-scale research to new educational tracks, essays and workshops: we translate the content into clear, powerful stories. With explainer videos we make complicated themes understandable and shareable online. In the monthly podcast we bring together researchers, experienced practitioners and public professionals to discuss the insights that matter. We also contribute to innovative education through the video we made for a newly developed serious game. Since we're practically neighbours in The Hague, we also regularly grab the camera for portraits, programme covers and events. A pleasant, natural collaboration in which we, as media partner, help the NSOB land their knowledge and amplify their impact.

Podcast

Recorded in school, spilled from school

Every first Monday of the month, when the air raid sirens sound, that's not just a reminder that the national alarm system works, but for many civil servants, administrators, researchers and politicians it's also the signal that a new episode of the podcast 'Uit de school' is online. Recorded at the NSOB home base on the Lange Voorhout, we record an episode every month about governance themes. The goal of the podcast is to offer the wealth of knowledge from the school and think tank, alongside all the essays and programmes, in compact audio form.

Brand video and explainers

The essays of the NSOB are extremely valuable documents, but also require a time investment from the reader. That's why we make explainer videos for the NSOB that explain the core of the essays and research to both increase attention for the content, and to encourage people to dive into the full essay. We also make videos for other purposes, such as an overarching video about all activities and the identity of the NSOB.

Photography

Programme covers and team photos

Photography is also highly usable at the NSOB. Think for example of personal profile photos for the staff page and personal publications, but for the programme page we also shot semi-abstract photos with a nod to the direct surroundings. We're also regularly present at events and graduation ceremonies to capture these beautiful moments.

Animations

Het Atelier

In 2025 the NSOB developed a new programme: 'Het Atelier', offering space for reflection, mirroring and deepening around current complex issues with individual professionals, teams, groups, organisations and networks. To give this new working form a digital 'swing', we collaboratively made a short clear animation video in which the innovative concept is explained in detail and amplified with moving images.
